Project Number 7: Embroidery

This year I decided to go crafty and embroidered bags for Christmas gifts. I believe the three recipients that I sent them to have already received their gifts so I'm going to go ahead and post them on here.

Embroidering Back

Project Number 6: Embroidery

Life has gotten so busy that I have not had time to embroider as much.

A few weeks ago, my wrist began hurting quite a bit. I figured it was a combination of all the typing at work and embroidery at night, so I took a break.

Now I'm slowly easying my way back into the embroidery-saddle.

Here's my latest project.

Stitch, Stitch, Stitch.

Project Number 6: Embroidery

On nights Oli works I have been embroidering a lot. I started off tracing or transferring designs that I found but have concluded that it is much faster to free-hand draw everything. This way I'm exercising some level of creativity and the designs end up becoming my own. The process is actually really soothing. Some times designs and ideas come flooding in in multitudes and other times I feel like I'm experiencing a 7 year drought.

Nevertheless I've really enjoyed the almost Leave-It-to-Beaver housewife stereotype I've become. // Husband at work. Wife at home sits down in the living room, after finishing up chores, and turns the tv on and... Stitch, stitch, stitch.

Embroider Me

Project Number 2: Embroidery

When I was in elementary I used to cross stitch a lot. It wasn't even cross stitch it was embroidery, crocheting, sewing, knitting..the whole works. Recently, my creative urges have come back and I have been itching to do something more than just sitting in front of my computer and moving a mouse around, so I decided to start embroidering again.

I ordered some canvas tote bags and off I went..We'll see what this new "hobby" takes me to. So far it has been a good way to keep my hands busy.

(*This bag I'm embroidering for my sister-in-law's birthday. She is a big Disney fan. Still in the process but I'm working on it.)
